ADEN, Yemen -- Forces loyal to the Yemeni government captured key areas from the Houthi rebel group as fighting continued escalating in the country's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Saturday, a military official told Xinhua.

During the past hours, the joint pro-government forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition launched a large military operation against the Houthi-held sites in Hays district in southern Hodeidah, the local military official said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Hodeidah-Fighting)

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has condemned Britain's decision to declare the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) a terrorist organization.

BEIRUT -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Saturday that Lebanon aims to reach an agreement on maritime border demarcation with Israel that would guarantee the country's right to invest in its natural resources, according to a statement by Lebanon's Presidency.

"Lebanon looks forward to resuming indirect U.S.-mediated negotiations with Israel to reach a deal that would allow us to benefit from our oil and gas resources," Aoun said during his meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Congress. (Lebanon-Israel-Maritime Border)

ANKARA -- The rate of two-dose COVID-19 vaccination among people aged 18 and older has reached 80.5 percent in Turkey, the Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Saturday.

The number of two-dose vaccinated people exceeded 50 million, or 60 percent of the total population in Turkey, Koca tweeted, but warned that this figure is not enough to cope with the pandemic. (Turkey-Vaccination-Rate)
