Dubai generating massive waste

Construction and demolition waste generated in Dubai has registered a record 163 percent growth.
With no let up in its building boom, a total of 27.7 million tonnes of construction waste was removed from various construction sites in the city in 2007.
In 2006, it was just 10.5 million tonnes.
The construction and demolition waste makes up 75 percent of the total solid waste generated in Dubai every year.
The volume of domestic solid waste generated in Dubai rose by 13.7 percent in 2007, as compared to 2006 with a total of 3.34 million tonnes.

With all this oil money coming in, these Arabs are having a building boom while the rest of the world is suffering the consequences, but it will come a time that the oil revenue will be depleated, and then they will come down from their high horse and sell their buildings to buy food from the international community, “Good weather and bad weather does not last forever”
